Understanding Your Testing Process with Galaxy Diagnostics

Galaxy Diagnostics provides advanced testing for elusive, stealth pathogens such as Bartonella, Borrelia (Lyme and Relapsing Fever), and Babesia.

While our tests must be ordered by a licensed healthcare provider, this page is designed to help you understand what to expect, from ordering to results.

Step-by-Step: How Testing Works
Step 1:
Provider Account Setup

Your healthcare provider must have an active account with Galaxy Diagnostics.

Providers can register here.

Step 2:
Determine the Appropriate Test

After registration, your provider may consult with Galaxy’s clinical team to determine which test option best fits your specific case. This ensures the right test is selected based on symptoms, exposure history, and clinical presentation.

Step 3:
Test Order & Kit Shipment

Once your provider places the order, Galaxy ships a test kit directly to your address.

Each kit includes:

  1. Requisition form
  2. Specimen collection & handling instructions
  3. Patient consent form
  4. Prepaid FedEx return shipping supplies

Note: Please do not return samples on Fridays or near holidays.

Best practice is to ship Monday–Thursday. Specimens can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.

Step 4:
Specimen Collection

Depending on the test, you may need a blood and/or urine sample.

If your provider’s office doesn’t have an in-house phlebotomist, we can help you find one — email us at [email protected].

Step 5:
Ship Your Samples

Follow the included instructions carefully and use the prepaid FedEx materials to ship your samples to Galaxy Diagnostics. Best practice is to ship Monday–Thursday. Specimens can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.

Step 6:
Receive Results

Your provider will receive results within 3–4 weeks after your specimen arrives at our lab and can share with you directly.

If you need a copy, complete the Results Request Form and send it to [email protected] by fax or email.

Due to HIPAA privacy regulations, results cannot be emailed directly to patients.

Finding a Provider

If your doctor is unfamiliar with Galaxy Diagnostics or tick-borne illness testing, the following directories may help you find a provider experienced in this area:

Blood Draw Resources

Phlebotomy Resources

If your provider does not offer in-office phlebotomy services, you may arrange your own blood draw.

Mobile Phlebotomy Options

There are many mobile phlebotomy providers available, including both national services and local, independent phlebotomists. One commonly used nationwide option is TravaLab Mobile Phlebotomy.

  • Nationwide mobile phlebotomy service (availability varies by location)

  • Test kit and requisition form are required before scheduling

  • Once the specimen is collected, the phlebotomist organizes shipment to the appropriate laboratory or courier

Note: TravaLab is highlighted as a convenient nationwide option, but it is not the only mobile phlebotomy service available. Additional local mobile phlebotomy providers may be available in your area.

Draw Site (Brick-and-Mortar) Options

If you prefer a local draw site instead of mobile phlebotomy, there are nationally recognized locations such as Any Lab Test Now and ARCpoint Labs, as well as other regional options.

Galaxy Diagnostics can assist in identifying available phlebotomy options (both mobile and draw sites) based on your location and needs.

Please email [email protected] for assistance and a list of options.

Always confirm availability, pricing, and appointment requirements directly with the phlebotomy service.
