Check out a video highlighting Dr. Ed Breitschwerdt’s One Health Perspective on Bartonellosis – aka Cat Scratch Disease and other Bartonella spp infections – from the 2014 NorVect Conference.

Bartonella spp are stealth pathogens with the ability to evade immune response and invade a broad range of cells in the body, including CD4 progenitor cells in the bone marrow.  The emerging research suggests that these bacteria can fly under the radar, causing multi-symptom disease in animals and people without a clear immune response.
